Now that feels like a mouth full to say out loud. Nike announced earlier today that they would be introducing a new series of uniforms to Major League Baseball called the City Connect series. These uniforms seem to be a remix of the NBA’s City Edition series and the NFL’s Color Rush series. I personally didn’t see this or anything like this coming to Major League Baseball anytime soon. Baseball has always had its traditions and has stuck with them.

Which made it all the more surprising when I woke up to what the Boston Red Sox unveiled. Below you can see the Boston Red Sox’s City Connect jersey in all its glory. This jersey was inspired by the finish line of the Boston Marathon (according to Chris Creamer of SportsLogos.net ) .

According to Chris Creamer of SportsLogos.net , there are six teams that will be releasing their City Connect jerseys this season. Among the Boston Red Sox we will see the Miami Marlins, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs, Arizona Diamondbacks, San Francisco Giants, and Los Angeles Dodgers. These jerseys will be worn for three seasons with other teams releasing theirs in the coming months.
