Zach LaVine is having an incredible season for the Chicago Bulls. On the season, he is averaging 28 points per game (ppg), 5 rebounds per game (rpg), and 5 assist per game (apg). Most people probably just remember him as a 2-time dunk contest champion, but he is proving to be more than that. Over the past two seasons, Zach LaVine has improved in almost every statistical category; Points, Rebounds, Assists, Free Throw percentage, Field Goal percentage, and Three-Point Field Goal percentage. All while his minutes remain relatively the same. Did I mention he’s only 25 years-old? Over the last five games he has been on a tear averaging 34 points per game (ppg). In a win over the Magic on Saturday, he shot 64% from the field and 83% from three while dropping 39 points. Then on Wednesday drops a season high 46 points with 68% from the field and 64% from three. He also had 7 rebounds and 4 assists in each of those games. With the Bulls sitting in 10th place only 1.5 games out of the 8th seed, they could make the playoffs. I think being in the playoff race helps his Allstar changes, but do others agree? Should he be an Allstar? He’s got my vote.
